Momentum and Collisions

Today we continued learning about momentum and collisions. We started where we left off as we did a very similar lab, this time using a Nerf bullet in our experiment. We measured how the momentum changed when alternating the initial velocity of something, this was a bit challenging at first, but we were able to work as a team and get the job done. We also had a thorough demonstration of  momentum when Mr. Blake showed us the hovercraft and tossed a medicine ball to another person. The momentum caused him to go backwards and this was a good way to see ho this unit works. We also went outside and tossed water balloons back and forth while practicing how to add contact time to make the contact of the two be less than usual. It was a really fun activity and helped me learn how it works. Tomorrow we are continuing with collisions and momentum and hopefully we can have our egg drop without it breaking.
